Staff Accountant

Are you an accountant who enjoys owning the close process, digging into complex reconciliations, and partnering across the business? Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing accounting team and work directly with leadership in a highly visible role.

This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional transactional accounting and gain exposure to operational processes that drive business. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, advanced Excel skills, and a desire to take ownership of key financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day general ledger maintenance, month-end, and year-end close activities across multiple entities
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting schedules
• Support inventory accounting, collateral reporting, and operational data analysis
• Assist with annual audits and compliance reporting
• Partner with leadership to identify and implement process improvements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP compliant accounting
• Experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
• Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP
• A desire to think big-picture and understand how accounting can collaborate across the company to deliver real improvements to business outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

• Public accounting experience preferred
• Distribution, renewable energy, logistics, or other inventory-driven industries
• Experience supporting audits and financial reporting processes
